Top Kenyan Comedian Njugush has scooped the Digital Influencer of the Year Award in the just concluded Africa Digital Awards,2020 that was held on Saturday, November 28.
Njugush has managed to beat fellow acts across Africa nominated in the same category as Kwadwo Sheldoh (Ghana), Lasizwe (South Africa) Linda Ikeji (Nigeria), and Edith Yoh (Cote d’Ivoire)
“Africa Digital Influencer of the Year; a huge title thanks for your support. Thanks, Africa Digital Awards for your recognition. Influencing section with a purpose. Asante Celestine Ndinda for being there throughout the journey,” He posted on Instagram.
The social media statement that broke the good news to his fans and followers received over 30, 000 likes and over one thousand comments carrying congratulatory messages and praises from fans, fellow comedians, and friends.
Timothy Kimani alias Njugush is known for his amusing and hilarious content on social media something that has attracted a lot of businesses to him for endorsement deals. He has massive followership on his social media platforms.
Njugush also recently was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans of 2020 alongside other people like Boniface Mwangi, Edith Kimani, Victor Wanyama, and Betty Kyalo.
The Africa Digital Awards aim at recognizing innovation, technology, and creativity across multiple areas of an ever-evolving sector.
The awards involve participants from the 54 African countries battling it out in 20 categories.
Nation Media Group also won the best digital media organization in Africa. NMG’s subsidiary Juhudi Kilimo bagged the award for the Best Agritech Innovation company
Njugush has also been a brand ambassador for a couple of firms and industries which include Bountiful Safaris, Safaricom, Toilex Kenya and so many more
The comedian was born in Meru to a Reverend and Businesswoman. He had a dream of being a pilot while was growing up but he later realized that it was not his path to take.
