When it comes to gifting, Bongo crooner Diamond Platnumz surely does know how to warm the hearts of people around him. During the weekend, Tanzanian comedian Coy Mzungu added up to the long list of Diamond Platnumz’s beneficiaries driving off a stand-up comedy show dubbed Cheka Tu Mzizima Edition with a brand new car courtesy of Wasafi media, Diamond Platnumz’s stable.
Diamond Platnumz, who made a surprise appearance at the sold-out show which was held at Milimani City in Dar es Salaam, interrupted the show to hand over the car keys to Coy Mzungu for his remarkable job in the Tanzanian comedy industry. According to Diamond Platnumz, the Wasafi group, who are the main sponsors of the event that was headlined by Churchill Show comedian Mammito Eunice, had gifted Coy Mzungu with the car as a token of appreciation for propelling standup comedy to greater heights.
“My apologies (for interrupting the program), I was just passing by and wanted to thank you for turning up to support this industry. I believe that with God’s will, it’ll be even bigger. Above all, I have a gift from the Wasafi group and comic world for Cheka Tu. I have been asked to gift Coy a car. Coy had no idea I was to do this; I just decided to come to surprise him. Coy, in truth, is doing a great job. He is propelling stand-up comedy to greater heights and our job, as the youth, is to support him,” Diamond Platnumz said in his speech.
