Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond Platnumz has over time grew his audience to an international level subsequently being recognized with several awards. Aside from being at the center of many controversies, one thing you can’t take away from the singer is his dedication to his musical career that gas equally paid him off.
Recently while speaking in an interview with a local Tanzanian media group, Diamond disclosed that he had been approached by the Coming 2 America production team, to have him feature in the iconic movie. Revealing details of his supposed participation, Diamond said that they had requested to have one of his songs play in the movie, however, they did not agree on some things with the team.
According to him, there were a few disagreements that were never settled during the talks but nonetheless, he revealed that they were still in talks and hopefully the parties involved will settle on something.
“Waandaji wa filamu ya Coming 2 America walinitafuta kwa ajili ya kutumia wimbo wangu. Lakini kuna vipengeke havikukaa sawa. Ila bado tupo kwenye mazungumzo,” disclosed the Wasafi CEO.
Coming 2 America is a sequel to an American comedy film, Coming to America by Eddie Murphy. The film which is set to premiere on March 5th, 2021, is directed by Craig Brewer with Eddie Murphy and Kevin Misher on production. Among many other details, Tanzanian songbird Vanessa Mdee’s fiancé, singer Rotimi, will play the role of Pretty Iddi, (General Izzi- Wesley Snipe’s son) and the next Prince of Nextdoria.
