Davis Mwambili, professionally known as Inspekta Mwala, has revealed why he quit his lucrative presenter job at Radio Citizen where he had worked for 13 years.
“Today is my last day at Radio Citizen. I am doing this morning’s show and will also host Drive On in the evening. I am grateful to the station and to the fans who have been tuning in for so many years. When you meet me in the streets buy me meat,” he stated at the time.
Giving the details of his radio departure during an interview with Mzazi Willy M Tuva, the actor said he was seeking something new and was no longer invested in work on radio.
“…people do not have to live like a group of sheep or locusts, together. Life is yours alone and you cannot share your own life with anyone
“Radio for me was great because it was something I was passionate about and had gave my all to do it. But I never said that I will do it till I die,” he said.
He went on to explain that he still loves radio but felt it was time to redirect his focus on something different.
“I still love radio, but I am at this point in life where there is much more than it. It is not everyday me on the radio that I cannot breathe,” he added.
On retiring from his popular TV show dubbed ‘Inspekta Mwala’, the media personality revealed that he has informed his co-actors on the show that he will be retiring soon.
“The people I work with on that show still need me. Without me there is no Inspekta Mwala and those people have no jobs. If I decide to leave today, the show will come to an end. I have already alerted them to start preparing themselves because anytime I may leave, it can be after ten years or 5 years,” he added.
