Songstress Tanasha Donna and her ex-lover Diamond Platnumz could be rubbing shoulders over his recent collaboration dubbed ‘Cheche’ with rising star Zuchu.
The Wasafi Records signee debuted her latest Swahili hit featuring Diamond and Tanasha quickly hinted a lack of originality through a subliminal shot directed at the Tanzanian singers.
Numerous fans were also vigilant enough to notice Diamond plagiarized a part of Tanasha’s lyrics from the song Ride which features Khaligraph Jones.
Reacting to ‘Cheche’, the 25-year-old shared a short video clip jamming to the song that debuted on her EP in February 2020.
The video clip sparked various reactions from Netizens who quickly pointed out the similarities of Tanasha’s ride with Zuchu’s first verse in Cheche.
“Yo te quiero tanteee , for your love asante…. 藍 One of my fav tracks on #DONNATELLAEP hands down! Back to when RIDE ft @khaligraph_jones was trending #1 on @audiomackafrica without an official release. Good music sells itself, never forced. Enyewe demand on this video imekuwa high… Sijui after #nawewe ni release hii? PLUS , My teddy bear @naseeb.junior has decided he gotta be a part of my video, jamani 藍笠❤️殺 (Got this cute t shirt from @fnmbrand )” wrote Tanasha.
Echoing Tanasha’s sentiments, her manager Jamal Gaddafi threw Jabs at both Diamond and Zuchu for copying Tanasha’s lyrics.
Similarly, a different group of fans accused the Chibu and Zuchu of copying scenes from Beyonce’s hit, Naughty girl.
