The friendship of the two Grammy Award winning Rappers, came to an abrupt end after Kanye West made a series of unsavoury comments about Jay Z and his wife Beyonce during a show in 2016. However Kanye West seems to be missing his brother after he retweeted a fan account which has reposted a video of the two performing ‘Otis’ at the 2011 MTV Awards. Posting a screenshot from that 2011 performance, West tweeted, “Miss my bro…real talk.”

The two artists relationship became strained over the years, dashing fans hopes of a follow up to their joint 2011 album, Watch The Throne. The album that celebrated it’s nine year anniversary on Saturday August 8th and West appeared to be caught up in reminiscing about his days of working with Jay Z. West and Jay Z last appeared together in public at P Diddy’s 50th Birthday party in LA back in December last year. The two were said to settle a legal feud between the two over the streaming service Tidal.

Jay Z had addressed their feud in an interview in 2017 saying,” I (talked to) Kanye the other day just to tell him, like, he’s my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It’s a complicated relationship with us. Kanye came into this business on my label. So I’ve always been like his big brother. And we are both entertainers, it’s always been like a little underlaying competition with your big brother and we both love band respect each other’s art, too. So it’s like we both, everyone wants to be the greatest in the world. You know what I’m saying?”

Last month, Kanye West said that he wanted Jay Z to be his vice president in his unlikely presidential campaign. Asked if the two had spoken on the plans he replied, “man you know I ain’t talked to my brother in thousands, or like nine years or something like that. And the fact we ain’t talked in so long, that’s how you know we are real brothers. Because unfaithful ones can be mad at you and still pull up cos they getting the cheque.”
