11 years old son of the former Manchester United midfielder, Wayne Rooney has signed a new contract with the club’s under-eleven team, U-11. Kai Rooney will be looking to follow up closely in his father’s footsteps who is considered a club legend following his successful career with the English football club.
Wayne Rooney enjoyed a 13-year career at Old Trafford before his departure and is also the leading all-time club goal scorer with 253 goals in his 559 appearances for the club. Having joined the club in 2004 from Everton Football Club, the father of four won 5 premier league titles, One Champions League, One Europa League, One FA Cup, and three League titles.
Taking to his social media pages to share the good news with his fans and followers, Rooney expressed his excitement with the son’s signing. He wrote, “Proud day. Kai signing for Manchester United. Keep up the hard work son❤.” His wife Coleen Rooney, who is also photographed with their son during the contract signing, also congratulated Kai wishing him all the best.

After a return season at his boyhood club Everton FC, Rooney moved to the MLS League to play for DC United before joining Derby County as the player-coach. He is currently the Interim boss at Derby. It will be interesting to see how his son’s career shapes out.
