Mbogi Genje Responds To Claims Of Bahati Not Paying Them To Feature In ‘Ndoto’

Fast-rising Gengetone group Mbogi Genje and Kevin Bahati have come together to bless their fans with a new hit dubbed ‘Ndoto’.

The catchy tune has been produced by the famous Teddy B, Shon and Mesesi and was released to the airwaves on 1st October 2020 leaving netizens beaming with excitement over the new hit.

Under an hour, the song has garnered a significant number of views.

However, the new jam is far different from the usual tempo and rap style that the trio uses while rapping their unique verses. Ndoto runs in a smooth flow and the Genje gang remarkably outdid themselves.

According to Militant, a talented rapper from the group, he says they have been working on the project since September and everything ran smoothly from the word go.

He was in talks with Smaddy for a short while then we met sometime in September and recorded the whole song in under a day.” Militant said

Rubbishing the rumours of Bahati not paying them for the much-awaited project, Militant said they came to an agreement on how they would split the royalties earned from the hit.

We did not discuss anything with payment before the job. We were to drop the song as a collaboration then work on how we are to split the royalties. If we received cash before that would mean we waive the rights for our parts.” He explained

The Sheng master also said although the song belongs to former gospel singer Kevin Bahati, they have set a meeting to navigate on how the royalties earned will be split among them.
