American rappers Cardi B and Offset have reportedly split following a divorce petition filed by Cardi B on Tuesday.
The “WAP” rapper whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, has decided to wipe away her union with Offset after nearly three years of marriage where they sired a daughter named Kulture Kiari Cephus.
According to reports by TMZ, the 27-year-old rapper stated that she is currently separated from Offset and their marriage is “irretrievably broken” and chances of a possible reconciliation is unlikely to happen.
Following her divorce petition, the Grammy-winning rapper wants physical and legal custody of their daughter Kulture and Offset should foot child support bills and legal expenses moving forward.
Given that they both signed a prenuptial agreement when they tied the knot in 2017, It remains unclear whether the mother of one wants spousal support since her petition asks for “an equitable division of all marital assets.”
A hearing for the case has been scheduled for November 4, 2020.
This will not be the first time the lovebirds have split up with Cardi B in 2018, sharing on Instagram that she and her estranged husband were no longer together.
In the since-deleted Instagram post, the rapper explained they been trying to work through their marriage to no avail.
“It’s nobody fault,” she said. “I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.Cardi B said.
However, they later reconciled after the Migos rapper publicly apologized for his infidelity that humiliated his wife.
At the time, Offset popped up at the Rolling Loud Music Festival in an attempt to win her back with a beautiful flower arrangement written TAKE ME BACK CARDI but the ‘Bodak Yellow’ shook her head and sent him offstage disappointed.
