Spotify Unveils “2020 Wrapped”Lists with Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Drake, The Weeknd Taking Top Spots.
On Tuesday 1st December Spotify unveiled its “2020 Wrapped” lists featuring top songs, artists’ podcasts, and the albums of the year in Canada and around the world.
The most-streamed artist globally was Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny with 8.3 billion streams.
Despite the Grammy’s snub The Weeknd’s song ‘Blinding Lights’ was top on the most streamed song globally category.
He was closely followed by SAINt JHN’s Roses, remixed by Imanbek, while Rockstar by rappers DaBaby and Roddy Ricch was third. Roddy Ricch’s The Box came in fourth and Tones and I’s Dance Monkey was fifth.
Rapper Drake emerged as the most-streamed artist in Canada, Followed by Juice WRLD, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, and Post Malone.
Taylor Swift topped on the most-streamed female artist in Canada, followed by Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Halsey, and Dua Lipa.
Singer Ed Sheeran led in the Most Popular British artist in the UK on Spotify followed by Stormzy, Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi, and Harry Styles.
In a remarkable achievement for a debut album, Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent was the most-streamed record in the UK.
It finished ahead of Harry Styles’ Fine Line, Pop Smoke’s Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, and The Weeknd’s After Hours.
Across the world, Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG was the most streamed album with over 3.3 billion streams, although British stars Harry Styles and Dua Lipa also made the top five.
Controversial podcast The Joe Rogan Experience took the top slot for the most popular podcast in the UK.
